Bactima launched
08 July 2026
Bactima is now live as a free educational platform for antimicrobial susceptibility interpretation. Built for microbiologists, clinicians, students, and laboratory professionals, it brings together WHONET-derived data and current CLSI & EUCAST breakpoints in a single, easy-to-use interface.
What you can do on Bactima:
- BMQ Interpreter: select an organism and antimicrobial, enter the MIC, and instantly get the S / I / R category along with the BMQ (S breakpoint ÷ MIC) value.
- Searchable dropdowns covering thousands of organism–antimicrobial combinations from CLSI and EUCAST reference tables.
- Resources: downloadable intrinsic resistance chart and quick links to CLSI, EUCAST, and WHONET.
- Clinical guides: how to interpret AST results, and the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion / zone-of-inhibition guide.
- Contact form for feedback, corrections, and collaboration requests.
- Mobile-friendly design that works on phones, tablets, and desktops — installable as a Progressive Web App for quick bench-side access.
Bactima is intended for educational and reference use to support — not replace — validated laboratory workflows and clinical judgement.
